Your trip does not disappear with your signal
Trains, airports, and city streets are where a plan is most useful β and where a connection is least reliable. Awaii keeps the core trip on your device so you can still open it. You should not have to hunt through chat for the hotel link just because the signal dropped.
The day you already planned is still there without a signal.
What stays available offline
Once a trip is on your iPhone, you can still open the parts you already saved:
- the trip itself
- saved ideas
- the itinerary
- saved trip information and documents
- expenses
- packing
That is core trip planning: the current version of the plan, not a live search of the internet. If you already saved the stay, the dinner, the packing list, and the booking note, those stay readable. The point of being on the trip is using what you decided β not rebuilding it from screenshots.
Search, new map data, and sync
Live place search needs a connection. Newly loading map data does too. If someone else edits the shared trip, those changes reach you when you are back online.
You can still read the trip you already have. You cannot treat a dead signal as a full substitute for looking up a new restaurant or downloading a map of a neighbourhood you have not opened yet. Open the places you care about while you still have coverage if you know you will be underground or on a plane later.
Places already on the trip stay with the plan. New search does not.
No offline upgrade
Offline access is not a paid feature today. It is included in the one version. You do not unlock the itinerary, the saved ideas, or the documents already on the trip by paying. Later, Awaii may add optional premium planning features and richer connected data sources. For now, there is one version of Awaii and the planning experience is included.
How that compares with planners that put some offline capabilities in a paid tier is on free travel planning apps.
How syncing works
Your trip lives on your device, so losing your connection does not mean losing your plan. When a connection returns, changes sync through a secure backend. We will not sell or share your data with advertisers.
Until you are online again, other people on the trip will not see edits you make, and you will not see theirs. The copy on the phone is still the trip you had when the signal dropped. That is enough to walk to the restaurant you already chose. It is not a live group session while nobody has data.
